How did Timothy learn about these things?
“Timothy knew those from whom he learnt it”
How did he become convinced of it?
“from infancy Timothy had known the holy Scriptures”
What does the Holy Scriptures do?
Make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
How are the Scriptures able to do that?
All Scripture is God-breathed.
What is the purpose?
It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Why is it important?
So you may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
This, therefore, is the end goal for Scriptures:
- be saved and have faith in Jesus Christ
- be equipped for every good work
=> Transformed lives
Two ways one learns the Good News
- Others have shared it with us, and
- Our own study of Scriptures.
- no one shares it with us
- no Scriptures for us to study?
